UP over the former Western Pacific between SaIt Lake City and Winnemucca, including the paired track with SP (pre merger) through Palisade Canyon. The "Trains" article called this line "Trains in a desolate landscape" and it sure is. Highball visited the salt flats, Wendover Hill, and Arnold Loop. You can see westbounds 13 or 14 miles away, then they round the loop and head over Silver Zone Pass. Highball followed the line through the sage brush to Hogan tunnel, then across tine desert (VERY lonely) to Wells, Palisade Canyon and Wininemucca. Splendid desolation.
