CLASSIC BURLINGTON NORTHERN - VOL 2

Default Title: $24.95 USD

The Burlington Northern Railroad was the product of a March 2nd, 1970, merger of four major railroads, the Great Northern Railway, Northern Pacific Railway, Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. In this series, we feature the films of Fred Crissey, who traveled to many areas along the BN’s route in the central United States in the late 1970’s and 1980’s with his 8-millimeter movie film camera.

In volume 2, Fred travels to the states of Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin and South Dakota.

Cascade green and black locomotives are seen in such locations as St. Joseph, Missouri, The Sandhills Region of Nebraska, Crawford Hill and Edgemont, South Dakota. Next, Fred takes us to the Twin Cities of Minnesota and its surrounding areas to view the BN working in such places as Dayton’s Bluff, Prescott, Wisconsin and more! A brief look at the Huron to Watertown Local in eastern South Dakota precedes more footage in Minnesota with BN’s F units in charge of main line trains! Fred ends the show with Northern Pacific number 328 operating tourist trains in Stillwater.

This program showcases the BN at a time when they were growing and expanding since the 1970 merger. If you are a fan of the Cascade Green, you won’t want to miss Classic Burlington Northern, Volume 2!
