Green Bay & Western Railroad operated their trains across Wisconsin with 100% Alco powered diesel fleet. The colorful GB&W had a remarkable 122-year history before becoming a fallen flag to the Wisconsin Central in 1993. Their rail line stretched 255 miles from the shore of Lake Michigan at Kewaunee and traveled through Wisconsin's scenic forests and farmland to reach the Mississippi River and a connection with the Burlington Northern at East Winona.
