How To Order From McMillan Publications
About McMillan Publications

updated 7-1-08

NOTE: We will be closed July 8 through July 15, and July 23 to August 16. During these periods, please order from our web site. Orders placed while we are gone will be filled beginning the day after our return.

Catalog 146 is the current catalog now being mailed out with orders. The catalog is effective 3-26-08 through 9-30-08.

McMillan Publications will publish 5 color calendars for 2009: Santa Fe, BNSF, Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, and CSX. We will not publish a Fallen Flags or Rio Grande calendar for 2009. The Santa Fe and BNSF calendars are ready now and will be available at the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modelling Society convention in Riverside, Calif., July 8-13. The other three should be ready by the first week of September. As each becomes available it will be placed on our web site.

The postal rate changes that went into effect on May 14, 2007, changed our international rates. The USPS has done away with surface shipping and now everything goes by air. There are now two international classes: First Class International (for packages less than 4 pounds) and Priority Mail International (for package over 4 pounds). There is no change for small packages, but packages weighing over 4 pounds will see a significant increase. Sorry about this. Priority mail rates also dramatically increased with the May 14, 2007, rate change. As a result, we will no longer ship our calendars priority mail. They will now go Media Mail.

Altamont Press has announced the release of two new railfan timetables: CALIFORNIA REGION No. 19 and NORTHWEST REGION No. 8. Both are currently available and are on our web site. The Northwest timetable has been enlarged to include the state of Montana.

We receive lots of questions regarding our next volume in the Santa Fe in Color Series: TUMBLEWEEDS AND FAST FREIGHTS. The book will cover the last three decades of the Santa Fe in New Mexico. I am happy to report that the book has been printed and is now available. TUMBLEWEEDS will also be available at the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society convention in Riverside, California, July 8 to 13.

We are planning to phase out Mark 1 and Clear Block DVDs. Neither of these companies has produced anything new for the past several years and sales have dwindled to the point these items are not profitable to carry. We will continue to show the Mark 1 and Clear Block DVDs that we have in stock on the web site until they are gone.

Highball Productions and Railway Productions are now offering their newest DVDs widescreen formats. We haven't been carrying the widescreen DVDs as separate line items on our web site, but have started doing so. You will now be able to order either the standard full screen or the widescreen versions off the web. Previously, we just listed the full screen version. Some DVDs are offered ONLY in widescreen, however, so make sure you read the description text to make sure you get what you want. McMillan Publications is no longer listing VHS video tapes in its catalog. DVDs have taken over the market, and maintaining a dual inventory is just too expensive. We have a number of VHS tapes still in our inventory and some are listed on this web site, As tapes sell out, we will not reorder them and we will no longer special order VHS tapes.

TLC continues to announce a host of new books it has scheduled for publication. The release dates keep getting pushed back. We will carry most of the new books and will post them in the "New Releases" section as soon as they are in stock, however, we will not put them on the web site until they are received. It is our practice to not put items on the site until they are received in stock.
