About McMillan Publications

updated 7-16-10.

7-16-10. Our 2011 Santa Fe, BNSF, CSX, Union Pacific, and Rio Grande color calendars are now in stock. The Norfolk Southern will be ready in a few days. Click on "Calendars" from the main menu. The 2011 calendars will be the same size as the 2010's and will measure 14 inches wide by 9-3/4 inches high (opening to 19-1/2 inches). You will be able to see all of the monthly calendar photos on line by clicking on the photo of the calendar cover. This will be the first time we have offered this feature.

6-29-10: McMillan Publications is well along in the process of publishing Volume 5 in the Santa Fe in Color Series. Volume 5, titled CANYON LANDS AND SUPER CHIEFS, will cover the last thirty years of the Santa Fe in the state of Arizona. The book will definitely be available at the June 2011 SFRH&MS Convention in Phoenix, but hopefully, it will be released earlier. Pricing has not been established.

5-10-10: McMillan Publications will publish 6 color calendars for 2011: Santa Fe, BNSF, Union Pacific, Rio Grande, Norfolk Southern, and CSX. The single-copy price will be $14.95 plus shipping. Discounts will be offered for multiple copies: two for $26.90 (10% discount), $38.10 for three calendars (15% discount), and $11.95 each for four or more calendars (20% discount).

3-29-10: We are now handling Blu-ray DVDs from some producers. Please realize that these WILL NOT play on the average DVD player. You must have a Blu-ray player.

11-17-09: NOTE: Except for orders of small items, most of the products we ship are mailed via USPS Media Mail. This is a space available mail which works well most of the year and helps us keep shipping costs to a minimum. However, when mail volumes increase, as will happen around the Christmas holidays, Media Mail can often be delayed. If you are ordering items that are time sensitive, please call us at 303-456-4564 to make sure that the items are in stock and that we select the best shipping options for your needs.

6-29-10: Catalog 157 is the current catalog now being mailed out with orders. The catalog is effective 6-10-10 through 9-30-10, unless superceded.

9-6-09: McMillan Publications is proud to announce the publication of Mike Danneman's new book LAST OF A BREED. The 240-page, hardcover book features the last ex-D&RGW Tunnel Motors operating out of Helper, Utah. The book is laced with stories from the ex-Rio Grande men who operated these locomotives, maintained the track and serviced the locomotives. The book is available now on our web site.

Highball Productions and Railway Productions are now offering their newest DVDs widescreen formats. We carry the widescreen DVDs as separate line items on our web site. You will now be able to order either the standard full screen or the widescreen versions off the web. Some DVDs are offered ONLY in widescreen, however, so make sure you read the description text to make sure you get what you want. McMillan Publications is no longer listing VHS video tapes in its catalog. DVDs have taken over the market, and maintaining a dual inventory is just too expensive. We have a number of VHS tapes still in our inventory and some are listed on this web site, As tapes sell out, we will not reorder them and we will no longer special order VHS tapes.

TLC continues to announce a host of new books it has scheduled for publication. The release dates keep getting pushed back. We will carry most of the new books and will post them in the "New Releases" section as soon as they are in stock, however, we will not put them on the web site until they are received. It is our practice to not put items on the site until they are received in stock.
